“ONE SIZE” ROUTE
“It will feel like you’ve chosen the wrong road… but only for the first 99 km!”
Technical (but not too serious) commentary on the route data, to tell your grandchildren… or your physiotherapist
This route seems like the result of a discussion between a hardcore adventurer and a comfort-loving bike tourist. A perfect mix of “I’ll make you sweat” and “relax, it’s almost a walk in the park.”
Route in a nutshell:
–Distance: 100 kilometers. Enough to make you reflect on every meal you skipped during your training.
–Elevation Gain: 1,310 meters. It won’t have you climbing Everest, but those 16 climbs will make you feel like you came pretty close.
The Walls
16 short climbs, but so steep that it will feel like scaling a climbing wall. Some gradients are so brutal you might end up regretting the invention of the bicycle.
No joke: every wall will be a battle against gravity and your ambition to not put a foot down.
Technical tip: Never look up while pedaling. Convince yourself the summit is just behind each bend.
The Gravel
33 stretches of pure poetry… or tragedy, depending on your tire pressure, celebrating the true spirit of gravel: dust, gravel, and potholes that will keep you busy trying to keep the bike straight and your teeth in place. Every gravel section is an adventure in itself: you know how you enter, but have no idea how you’ll get out. Dust? Definitely. Mud? Probably. Dignity? Open for discussion.
Poetic note: More than pedaling, you’ll be performing a dance on gravel. An experience that will make not only your soul vibrate but every single bolt of your bike.
Elevation and technical details
It’s not the Giro d’Italia, but those 1,310 meters are well spread out to work every muscle in your legs (and maybe discover muscles you never knew you had). The alternation between climbs and gravel will make you reconsider the concept of “rest.”
Strengths:
– Constant alternation between climbs, gravel, and more relaxing stretches (but only relatively).
– Ideal for those who love to challenge themselves and their rear tire.
Weaknesses:
– You may finish with more dust than enthusiasm.
– Singletrack (100 m – 0.06%): Just a taste to remind you that gravel can be a bit “wild,” but not too much. It’s more of an appetizer than a main course.
– Trail (27.9 km – 27.0%): This is where the real fun begins. If you’re the type to say “I want to get my wheels dirty,” here you go. It’ll be fun, but your rear end may disagree.
– Cycle path (5.57 km – 5.4%): The zen moment of the route. Pedal peacefully, enjoy the scenery, and breathe. It won’t last.
– Secondary road (21.9 km – 21.2%): Roads so quiet that you might cross paths with only a tractor and some chickens. Perfect for a chat with your cycling buddies.
– Main road (47.8 km – 46.2%): Here, it’s safe. Put down the watts, but watch out for the potholes: not all roads are as smooth as in Switzerland.
– State road (223 m – 0.14%): To make you feel alive. Few, but enough to remind you that traffic exists.
Surfaces
–Unpaved (23.9 km – 23.1%): The soul of gravel. Dust and vibrations will keep you company. Say a little prayer for your tires.
–Compact gravel (5.19 km – 5.2%): Premium gravel. It looks almost smooth, but it’s just a trick to get you to lower your guard.
–Cobblestones (523 m – 0.5%): A tribute to Paris-Roubaix. Just a small taste, so you don’t go straight to the physiotherapist.
–Paved (28.9 km – 27.9%): Finally, something that doesn’t look like a battlefield. Tougher than expected, but gentle.
–Asphalt (44.3 km – 42.8%): The corner for existential reflections and goals for the next climb.
–Unknown (566 m – 0.5%): The mystery deepens. You might find anything: gravel, sand, a wooden bridge, or the cosmic void.
Conclusion
A route designed for the gravel rider who is looking for more than just a ride, but a real adventure. It’s the perfect opportunity to curse the person who designed the route, promise you’ll never participate again… and then sign up immediately for the next edition.
“APERIGRAVEL ROUTE”
“the perfect choice for those who want to feel like a hero without having to stop walking for a week.”
You’ll have fun. Or at least, we hope so.
Some would call it “a perfect mix of effort and enjoyment.”
We prefer to say it was designed with the right balance of “What a view!” and “Why did I even sign up for this?”
The route in a nutshell:
-Distance: 65 kilometers. Enough to say, “I had a great ride,” but not enough to need a post-event CT scan.
-Elevation gain: 950 meters. The perfect number to feel satisfied… and start doubting your life choices.
The Walls
We’ve made a careful selection: only 11, but the right ones. A nice collection of ramps ready to test your endurance, your pride, and your gear choice. There’s the classic “Climb and hope,” the “It can’t be this steep,” and the dreaded “Why is the front wheel lifting?”
The Dirt Roads
Only 10 because we want to preserve your back for the rest of the season. Don’t expect tractors smoothing out the terrain: here, everything is authentic, vibrant, and—let’s be honest—definitely gravel.
Elevation Gain and Technical Details
950 meters of elevation gain? Yes, it’s not the Giro d’Italia, but it’s enough to make you reconsider your concept of a “trained leg.” Each stretch is designed to work all your muscles… even the ones you thought had retired.
Strengths:
A perfect test for gravel lovers who hate boredom.
Weaknesses:
The physiotherapist might become your new best friend.
-Singletrack (430 m – 0.3%): A taste of “wild gravel.” Just to make sure we don’t miss anything.
-Trail (12.9 km – 19.8%): The moment when the gravel rider smiles, and the cycle tourist wonders where they went wrong in life.
-Cycle Path (1.56 km – 2.4%): Your zen moment. A few minutes of peace before the chaos.
-Secondary Road (10.7 km – 16.4%): Here, you’ll only find tractors, chickens, and other gravel riders gasping for breath.
-Road (39.4 km – 60.4%): The “safety first” stretch. But don’t relax too much, the next climb is waiting for you.
-Main Road (210 m – 0.2%): Just to remind you that there’s a world out there.
Surfaces
-Unpaved (11.2 km – 17.2%): The soul of gravel. If you’ve never talked to your tires, you’ll start here.
-Compact Dirt (1.95 km – 3.3%): What seems smooth… until you ride it.
-Cobblestones (520 m – 0.4%): A little tribute to Paris-Roubaix, because we like making life complicated.
-Paved (16.6 km – 25.5%): The illusion of comfort. It seems easy, but it’s not.
-Asphalt (34.2 km – 52.5%): Here, you think, reflect, and recover (maybe).
-Unknown (724 m – 1.1%): A small mystery along the route. You could find gravel, sand, or… your new life philosophy.
Conclusion
A route for those looking for a real adventure, with the perfect mix of effort and satisfaction. Perfect for those seeking a challenge, but also for those looking for an excuse for a hearty final feast. You’ll ride, suffer, laugh… and in the end, with a sip of beer and a plate of pasta, you’ll promise never to do it again. Until the next edition.
